Kenya's reigning World champion Janeth Jepkosgei will lead former World Junior champion Irene Jeplagat, Beijing Olympic 800m champion Pamela Jelimo and 1500m champion Nancy Jebet Lagat to defend her crown at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin next month.
Fresh from a brilliant performance at the Kenya national championships last weekend where Jepkosgei claimed a morale-boosting victory in 1:59.31, over the Olympic champion in the two-lap race - her first sub-two minute time this season - with Jelimo also clocking a season best time of 1:59.49.
Also in the team are: Olympic silver medallist Asbel Kiprop, World 5,000m silver medallist Vivian Cheruiyot, World champion Alfred Kirwa Yego, and Florence Kiplagat.
