The City Of Abuja Marathon is an international sporting event that is open to all interested male/female Marathon runners worldwide.
It is expected that well over 80 countries in the world shall be taking part through invitations via AIMS. Apart from these countries, all states of the Federation and FCT shall be invited to participate alongside the world's best on Local Goverment basis.
CAM has been delimited to 42.195 Kilos as to comply with the IAAF rule 240 of compettition rule, the race will start from within the city of Abuja to end inside the the Eagle Square, and it is expected that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria shall flag off the race.
CAM 2008 is the brainchild of the African 400m record-holder Falilat Ogunkoya-Omotayo with the support of the Falilat Ogunkoya Sports Foundation and the Abuja FCT Ministry.
