London 2012: Nigerian athletes to get N1.5M for each Gold medal

Nigeria athletes, who will be taking part in this summer's Olympic Games, have received a boost from Cowbell Milk as mouth watering cash prizes of up to 1.5m Naira (10,000 USD) will be given to Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists in London.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has expressed deep sadness over the death of former IOC member from Nigeria, Major General Henry Edmund Olufemi Adefope (Rtd), who died in Lagos on Sunday March 11, aged 84.
