Nigeria names 19 for IAAF World Champs – Moscow 2013

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has released a provisional list of 19 athletes to represent Nigeria at the 2013 IAAF World Athletics championship in Moscow, Russia from August 10-18.

As expected, Blessing Okagbare, who won three gold medals at the recently held All -Nigeria Championships and selection trials in Calabar lead the team, with many athletes yet to achieve the IAAF standards on probation.

However, all the athletes on probation have been given a three-week grace period to achieve the qualifying mark for Moscow.

  • Ajoke Odunmosu (A standard in 400mH)
  • Regina George (A standard in 400) (4x400m relay)
