The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) will hold the 2014 AFN All-Comers Over-distance and Distance Relays at the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu, Ogun-State on the weekend of February 14-15, 2014.
According to a statement signed by the AFN’s assistant secretary, Umar Lambu, the events to be competed for include: 150m, 300m, 600m. 1000m, 300m hurdles, 4x400m relay, 4x800m relay and distance medley.
“All entry must be sent to the Federation [by] e-mail on or before February 9, 2014. No entries will be entertained at the venue.
“All athletes’ and their accompanying officials expenses will be borne by their respective state associations and clubs.”
The statement also noted that the terms and conditions for all participating associations and clubs will be as follows:
- No meal subsidy to any athlete and accompanying officials
- No transport subsidy
- No accommodation
- No prize money
Meanwhile [link id=”128″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Athletics Nigeria” target=”_blank”] has scheduled a meeting to discuss and ratify the 2014 programme of activities of the federation with States Athletics Associations, Military and Para-Military Athletics Clubs,and all private athletics club owners in Nigeria at the media centre of the main-bowl Package ‘A’ National Stadium Complex in Abuja on Monday February 3, 2014.
A press conference to unveil the 2014 programmes of activities of the Athletics Nigeria will be held the on Tuesday February 4, 2014 at the same venue.

I wish to inform you that AFN will provide accommodation for participating athletes for the forthcoming AFN All Comers’ Over-Distance Competition, billed for Shagamu, Ogun State from 14th – 15th February 2014.
