World record holder Yalemzerf Yehualaw from Ethiopia will run her debut marathon race at the 2022 Haspa Marathon Hamburg on April 24th.
Ethiopian Yalemzerf Yehualaw sets a world 10km record in Castellón de la Plana, Spain, clocking 29:14 to slice 24 seconds from Kalkidan Gezahegne’s previous world record.
The world and Olympic 10,000m medallist also becomes just the second athlete in history to hold world records for 5000m, 10,000m and the half marathon.
Yalemzerf Yehualaw becomes the first woman to break 64 minutes for the half marathon, running a remarkable 1:03:43 at the Antrim Coast Half Marathon.
