African champion Margaret Simpson of Ghana threw her best-ever Javelin throw in a Heptathlon, 56.36 metres, to frog jumped Lithuanian Austra Skujyte and Briton Kelly Sotherton to the bronze medal in Helsinki.

Dibaba leads Ethiopian 10,000m sweep

Tirunesh Dibaba leads the Ethiopian sweep of the 10,000m medals Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba has claimed one half of her double target in Helsinki, after leading two of her countrywomen to a clean sweep of the 10,000m at the 10th IAAF world championships in Athletics.
