People from across Birmingham and beyond are invited to a huge sports festival at Centenary Square, to celebrate exactly one year to go until Birmingham 2022 begins.

For one day only, the square is filled with sports activities hosted by the national governing bodies of 12 Commonwealth Sports running fun sports zones from 10am until 6pm, providing a free family day out at the start of the summer holidays.

Birmingham 2022 is one year away, with the Main Ballot open to everyone from 8 September 2021.

Summer of Sports

Held from 28 July until 8 August 2022, the Games will be packed full of sport with around 4,500 athletes from 72 nations and territories participating.

There will also be a six-month cultural festival taking place across the West Midlands, making Birmingham 2022 the largest sporting and cultural event to take place in the UK since the 2012 London Olympics.

Excitement will be building over the next 365 days, and we’ll make every minute count as we work towards delivering the greatest ever edition of the Commonwealth Games.
