Nigeria’s Uhunoma Naomi Osazuwa is still on course to break her national Heptathlon record at the ongoing IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China.
[link id=”807″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Osazuwa”], who [link id=”10267″ text=”set the Nigerian record with a points total of 6,106″] last month at the 2015 All Nigeria Championships in Warri, is currently placed in the 22nd position on the performance table after four (4) events with 3,623 points.
The Syracuse University graduate scored 1,014 points (13.75 seconds) in 100m hurdles; 1,016 points (1.83 metres) in the High Jump; 647 points (11.79 metres) in the Shot Put; and concluded for the day with 946 points (24.36 seconds) in the 200m.
The women’s Heptathlon event continues on Day Two of the Beijing 2015 IAAF World championships on Sunday with the Long Jump and Javelin Throw in the morning session and concluded with the 800m during the afternoon session.
Despite the setback from her weak Shot Put performance, a strong showing on Sunday could still edge Osazuwa over the record and a lifetime best.
