Athletics South Africa (ASA) have announced the final team to the IAAF World U20 Championships to be held from 19-26 July 2016 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Team South Africa U20 will be made up of 23 athletes – 16 boys and 7 girls. The squad will also feature a 4x100m relay team in Bydgoszcz 2016

“We are excited with the team we have selected and believe they will rise to the challenge and make our ‘Rainbow Nation’ proud,” said Aleck Skhosana, the President of Athletics South Africa.

“ASA have selected relay teams as part of a continuing effort to encourage relay running in South Africa. We have had a wonderful domestic Track and Field season where our juniors excelled and showed great promise.

“Our sprinters have shown tremendous improvement and consistency, and this is where we draw our confidence from and trust that we will be well represented in Poland.”

“And we’ve also come from a successful CAA 20th African Senior Championships which ended on Sunday in Durban where our junior athletes showed great character,” Skhosana added.
