Okagbare to lead strong Nigerian team for Marrakech 2014

Commonwealth Games double sprint champion, Blessing Okagbare, will lead the Nigerian team comprising of 30 athletes to the 2014 African championships in Marrakech, Morroco.

After a commendable outing at the just concluded 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Nigerian athletes will shift attention to the 19th African Senior Athletics Championships taking place from August 10 to 14 in [link id=”372″ tax=”am_venues” text=”Marrakech”], Morocco.

As expected, newly-crowned Commonwealth Games sprint double champion, [link id=”158″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Blessing Okagbare”], will lead the Nigerian team comprising 30 athletes (16 women and 14 men) to the 2014 African championships in Marrakech.

Okagbare, who set a new Commonwealth Games women’s 100m record of 10.85 secs in Glasgow, will compete in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m.

Also listed for the women’s 100m, 200, and the 4x100m in Marrakesh are: [link id=”152″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Gloria Asumnu”], Lawretta Ozoh, Dominique Duncan, Deborah Odeyemi, Justina Sule and Weyinmi Lindsay.
