The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has announced a strong team of 77 athletes (35 Femmes / Women, 39 Hommes / Men, and three reserves) to represent Africa at the IAAF Continental Cup Ostrava 2018 to be held on 8-9 September.
The CAA Team Africa selection was based on the results from the 2018 CAA African Senior Championships in Asaba, Nigeria earlier this month.
The African team, with two representatives from different countries in each event, includes many of the top performers from Asaba 2018 with world and Olympic steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto, world and Olympic 800m champion Caster Semenya, world 1500m champion Elijah Manangoi and world 5000m champion Hellen Obiri leading the charge.
