“I’m happy to finish my first race of the season… I was expecting him [Kipsang] to challenge me.”
Timothy Cheruiyot – Kenya
We caught up with Timothy Cheruiyot after he finished his first race of the season at the Ooredoo Doha Meeting, the 2022 Wanda Diamond League opener in Doha, Qatar on Friday 13 May.
Kenya’s new kid on the block Asbel Kipsang upstaged his older compatriot and world champion Cheruiyot, who had a strapping on the back of his legs, to win the men’s 1500m race with 3:35.70 to 3:36.16.
