Watch video of the 2017 AIMS Best Marathon Runner (BMR) Awards as Kenyans Eliud Kipchoge and Mary Keitany are announced winners of the AIMS Best Marathon Runner (BMR) Awards at a Gala in Athens.
The event was organised by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the Hellenic Athletics Federation, SEGAS. “The Athens Marathon. The Authentic” will be staged by SEGAS on the original course on Sunday with a record field of 18,500 runners.
Kipchoge won the Berlin Marathon with a world leading time of 2:03:32 in September while Keitany took the London Marathon in April, clocking an African record of 2:17:01. This is also a world record for a women only race.
