Video: Ferdinand Omanyala upsets Fred Kerley with 9.85 in Nairobi

Watch as Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala raced to a world lead of 9.85 seconds to win the men’s 100m in Nairobi on Saturday 7 May, 2022.

Earlier in the day, Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs was forced to withdraw from the third edition of the Kip Keino Classic, a Continental Tour Gold Athletics meeting in his home country.

African record holder Ferdy Omanyala thrilled the home fans, beating the American pair of Olympic silver medallist Fred Kerley and Isiah Young.

“I promised a show and I delivered, so I always walk the talk. That was just one of the shows and we are just beginning the season,” Omanyala said after the race.
