Hosted by the Fédération Malagasy d’Athlétisme (FMA), in partnership with Vision Madagascar, the 14th International Marathon of Tana will take place on Sunday October 26, 2014 starting from the Independence Square in Antananarivo.
This will be the second road race as Madagascar Championship held this year after the half-marathon. Malagasy athletes will be able to prepare well for the “Jeux des Iles” next year and try to ensure the Malagasy supremacy in race funds in the Indian Ocean.
Vision Madagascar, official sponsor of the 12th (2011) and 13th (2012) International Marathon of Tana in collaboration with the FMA decided this year, through its subsidiary World Trade Center Tana, to organise the 2014 International Marathon of Tana.
This great sporting event will include several events:
- The Marathon, the legendary race with a distance of 42.195 km (officially measured by the IAAF), alone or with team (business, friends, colleagues)
- “Les foulées de Tana”, race open to a distance of 5 km
- The HandiRun, 5 km race reserved for the physically handicapped in wheelchairs.
The International Marathon of Tana targets a wide audience: professional or experienced runner, amateur, young, less young, disabled, people of Tana, all Madagascar, Africa, Indian Ocean and Europe.

- Supplies every 5 km from KM 5
- Wipe sweat every 5 km from KM 7.5
- Aid station located every 5 km

For “Les Foulées de Tana”and HandiRun:
- Start and Finish: Independence Square – Antananarivo
- Race distance: 5 km
- Race Start: 7:30
- Supplies mid-term and at the finish
- Aid stations along the course
- Limited running time: 1:35
The Marathon Village (in front of City Hall Tana) will be open through October 25 and 26, 2014 for:
- Place of collection of numbers
- Information Location
- Venue for Marathon partners
- Meeting place and usability for sports fans
