XXI Commonwealth Games - Gold Coast 2018

The 2018 Commonwealth Games - Gold Coast 2018, an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth, will be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia from 4 to 15 April, 2018.

The Gold Coast is a coastal city in the Australian state of Queensland.

The Athletics events will start on Sunday 8 April, 2018 at the Carrara Stadium, the marathon will be held at the Southport Broadwater Parklands and the 20km race walks at the Currumbin Beachfront.

The Carrara Stadium will also host the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Venue capacity will be temporarily increased from 27,400 to 35,000 for Gold Coast 2018.

An IAAF certified track and associated track and field events infrastructure will be installed in both the main stadium and on the adjacent warm-up track.
