A hotly contested women's 400m was the highlight of the 4th AFN/NDDC Golden League meet held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Nigeria on Saturday.
Teenager Tosin Adeloye from Ekiti State, who won the girls 200m and 400m double at the 2nd AFN/D.K Olukoya National U-18 Athletics Championship in Lagos last weekend, lowered her personal best (53.46) further with an impressive 52.97 secs finish for third place.
The race was won by 27-year-old Policewoman Josephine Ehigie in 52.51 secs with Cross- Rivers State's Patience Okon second in 52.84 secs. Sirika Oluoma Nwoke of the NSCDC completed the sub-53 party placing fourth in 52.98 secs.
Segun Ogunkole of the Police won the men's 400m in 46.74 secs ahead of teammate Chukwuma Madunta (46.87) and Nigerian Custom's Saliu Isah (47.32).
Other Golden League winners include: Chinazom Amadi, women's Long Jump in 6.38 metres; Arinze Obiora, men's High Jump in 2.05 metres; Feyisayo Daramola, women's Hammer with 58.18 metres & Samuel Okon with 14.11 secs in the men's 110m hurdles.
