Top African marathon runners will lead the charge on Sunday 28 October at the 29th edition of the 20,308 kilometres La Classique Internationale Marseille-Cassis race in France. Gathering more than 12,000 top elite athletes and anonymous runners each year since 1979, the Marseille-Cassis run has been attracting more and more international athletes along the years, due to its sumptuous itinerary and atmosphere. Starting from the Olympic Marseille's Stade Vélodrome stadium at 9.30am and terminating at the little pretty port of Cassis, the race will run through the Calanques road and its fantastic landscape bathed by the sun, the rock and the sea. Approved by the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF), the race also attracts some of the best road-running athletes of the world, represents not less than 25 nationalities and is considered as the first French “Classique”. The event has been highly regarded for its organisation, excitements and performance and respected for its values due to the extraordinary dedication of its 600 volunteers and to the professionalism of its numerous sponsors. |
