Gaisah has rose steadily this year, posting an impressive World leading 8.36 metres jump at the GE Galan in Stockholm on February 2nd and another 8.23 metres at the Sparkassen Cup in Stuttgart two days later.. The Ghanaian travels to Melbourne for the Commonwealth Games now with renewed optimism of breaking the African record of 8.46 metres held by Senegalese Cheick Toure. South Africa's promising star Godfrey Khotso Mokoena, though sets a new national record with a leap of 8.01 metres, was only good enough for fifth place.
